A group of harp enthusiasts is reviving and preparing for the 6th HK Harp Festival, following the last HarpFest held in 2014.
The Organisers come from diverse backgrounds, various organizations or practices and have differing aspirations, but harping is our shared passion.
We hope everyone will have an enjoyable harping experience together.

HARP TRIATHLON
The First Laskine Games, 5 Oct 2024 (H6 CONET - The Centre, Basement Level, 99 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong)
An unprecedented and fun competition for everyone. Contestants will compete in three challenges - Harp Fix (豎琴手藝), Harp Guru (豎琴博藝), Harp Delight (豎琴技藝), each assessing a different skill set
PRIZE: The Laskine Games Champion (the overall winner of the Harp Triathlon) will be awarded the opportunity to attend an overseas harp camp, festival, or master class. All admission and training costs will be covered.*
Sponsored by CCC Memorial Endowment
The Championship is named in honor of Lily Laskine, paying tribute to her speed, strength, and endurance in her harp career.
-
Speed: She was the first woman admitted to the Paris Opera Orchestra at age 16.
-
Strength: She significantly expanded the harp repertoire, crossing from classical to popular music. Her harp performance in the film score of Get Out Your Handkerchiefs (Préparez vos mouchoirs) contributed to the film winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1979.
-
Endurance: Her career spanned over 80 years, with her most famous album, Japanese Melodies for Flute and Harp, released at age 84.
PRIZE: Contestants can also aim to win individual challenges.* The top prize winner of each game will receive a Master Class award.
Sponsored by the Hong Kong Harp Chamber
The judges for the Harp Delight challenge are Jung Kwak, Fontane Liang and Barbara Sze, who also serve as advisors for the Harp Fix and Harp Guru challenges.
*The judges and Friends of the Harp reserve the right to determine the suitability of the master class or camp, whether in Hong Kong or overseas, to be awarded to the recipients. For overseas camps or master classes, flights and accommodation are not included in the prize but may be subsidized through a separate application to the Friends of the Harp Music-for-Everyone Scholarship.
If any of the master class or harp camp awards are not claimed by December 31, 2025, the First Prize winners of Harp Fix and Harp Guru will receive a cash prize of HKD 400; Special Prize winners of Harp Delight will receive a cash prize of HKD 800; and the Champion will receive a cash prize of HKD 3,000. (Please note that the cash prizes do not reflect the full value of the master class or harp camp.)
