Healing Class 2021
Our first endeavor was to raise funds to create a music therapy program dedicated to the elderly for the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (香港社會服務聯會) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service (基督教香港信義會社會服務處) during the inaugural HK HarpFest (2006). It was one of the earliest music therapy programs for seniors at the time. The program has since become a permanent service offering.
Our charity initially focused on supporting children. We held our first harp scholarship student recruitment event at the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong 香港小童羣益會 in 2007. The Scholarship Program began with one student in 2008 before it saw a significant class expansion five years later.
Today, we continue to refrain from setting a minimum project target each year or imposing limits on our service aspirations. Instead, we focus on accomplishing what our volunteers and donors believe we can achieve together.
The value of music education and healing services is universal*. We focus on music projects that leverage our core competencies, requiring the delivery of highly personalized care and patience, as well as the ability to handle ambiguity and sensitivity in the feedback loop. Our value proposition lies in our extensive knowledge and resources in harp-related initiatives, backed by over 15 years of experience in serving others through the harp in partnership with NGOs.
Over these years, numerous volunteers and NGO supporters have led us to diverse organizations. We now tailor our programs to serve a broader community, encompassing children, adults, people with or without disabilities.
